About White Labs
White Labs Inc. Pure Yeast and Fermentation
team members have been active in the American and worldwide
craft brewing movements since the 1980s. The company, which
has grown to include offices in California
and Colorado, provides a wealth of
services to not only brewers but also winemakers, distillers and
others in the fermentation business. Below is a
brief description of company employees, although this is not
a complete list.

Our People

Chris White
President, White Labs
Chris is based in San Diego
Chris White started the lab in 1995 after researching and
developing a library of brewers yeast strains from around the world. Chris White received an undergraduate degree in
biochemistry from the University of California, Davis, and a Ph.D in biochemistry
from U.C. San Diego. Besides his duties at White Labs, Chris
is a member of the Siebel Institute faculty.

Lisa White
Vice President, White Labs
Lisa is based in San Diego
Lisa White holds a B.S. in Cell Biology from the
University of California, Davis, and conducted post graduate
studies at the University of California, San Diego. Lisa
received the American Society of Hematology Scholarship
Award in 1995, and conducted research at the Komives
Laboratory at U. C. San Diego. Lisa is a member of the
American Society for Brewing Chemists and is a member of the
Siebel Institute faculty.

Neva Parker
Head of Laboratory Operations, White Labs
Neva is based in San Diego
Neva has been with the White Labs family since 2002. She
earned her bachelor's degree in microbiology from Gonzaga University
in Spokane, WA. She became interested in beer while studying abroad
in London when she attended the annual Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA)
festival. Neva manages laboratory operations and has been
responsible for researching and developing new products and
services, as well as speaking at several workshops and conferences,
and publishing fermentation research. She is a member of the
American Society of Brewing Chemists, Master Brewers Associate of
the Americas, and AHA homebrew club of the year for a seven-year
streak, the Quality Ale and Fermentation Fraternity (QUAFF).
In her spare time, Neva enjoys spending time with her beer
enthusiast husband, Glen, and her beautiful daughter, Ada (born in
January of 2009). Her hobbies include cooking, eating, making up
baby songs, brewing, organizing, and happy hour.
Sharon Heredia
Office Manager, White Labs
Sharon is based in San Diego
Sharon joined White Labs in 2002. She manages all daily functions of
the corporate office in San Diego. Sharon updates databases, performs accurate and complete data entry, formats, and produces reports. She is responsible for preparing and processing accounts payables, accounts receivables and other office procedures. Prior to
White Labs, Sharon earned her general business administration and clerical certifications from two education institutes accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. By being bilingual
in Spanish/English, she can communicate with the growing
number of international clients. Sharon is amazed by the beer industry and enjoys learning about new breweries and homebrew shops around the world. Her hobbies include interior design, reading, attending museums,
theaters, and concerts.

Ashley
Paulsworth
Technical Sales and Marketing Coordinator, White Labs
Ashley is based on the East Coast
Ashley has been with White Labs since 2007 and her
interests in the brewing industry continue to grow. After
graduating from the University
of
Maryland, she joined White Labs as a laboratory technician and
transitioned into laboratory supervisor. After gaining
technical experience at the lab bench, Ashley will now be
using that knowledge to work with brewers on technical sales
and services questions. She will also be working on
marketing and promotional initiatives and looks forward to
meeting more brewers and drinking their delicious beer!
Outside of drinking, Ashley is an avid sun worshiper and
practices yoga religiously. You can find her breaking it
down on the dance floor or scoping out the newest brewpub in
town. Mike White
Communications Director, White Labs
Mike is based in Northern California Mike White joined White Labs in 2005 after working as a newspaper
reporter for many years. Years prior he began publishing the
company's newsletter Craft Beer Quarterly. In addition to publishing
CBQ and other materials for the company, Mike maintains the Web
site, administers the online ordering system, Yeastman, works with
the customer service staff and attends trade shows and festivals.
 John
Carroll
Customer Service, White Labs, Colorado office John Carroll joined White Labs in 2009 after working in the
electronics industry for 15 years. A graduate of USC School of
Business, John is an avid homebrewer who started a brewing club in
his hometown of Longmont, Colo. He enjoys
staying active and fit, living the Colorado lifestyle, tasting new
beers all the time and drinking the beers he brews. John enjoys
visiting breweries and customers in Colorado and elsewhere. 
Pam
Marshall
Customer Service, White Labs, San Diego office

Catherine Sullivan
Yeast Production Supervisor, White Labs,
San Diego
Laboratory Katie earned a bachelor’s
degree in Nutritional Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in
2003. After graduating, she worked for a biotechnology company on
the Central Coast managing a laboratory for 6 years. She was excited
by the opportunity to work for White Labs Inc. and the chance to
relocate to the San Diego area to pursue a career that blends her
passion for beer and science. Outside of work Katie enjoys
traveling, bike rides, rollerskating, gastropubs, and beer
festivals. 
Liz Strohecker
Laboratory Supervisor, White Labs, San Diego
