White Labs Davis Update

White Labs personnel recently participated in the Davis Bike and Brew Fest, part of Davis Beer Week, and they shared with the public the progress of the Davis laboratory.
 
White Labs poured two styles of a Rye Saison fermented with different yeast strains, WLP023 Burton Ale Yeast and WLP410 Belgian Wit II Ale Yeast. The pouring was modeled on the White Labs Tasting Room, which features same beers fermented with different yeast strains to showcase the role of yeast in beer flavor. 
 
Meanwhile, production is up and running and yeast is made weekly in the Davis lab, which is located within the Sudwerk Brewery.
 
"Attendees were excited to try the yeast comparison and learn about how they impacted the styles," said Katie Skow, who oversees White Labs Davis.

Local customers are welcome to utilize the Will Call Davis shipping option for all of their orders. Will Call Davis hours are currently Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
 
Homebrew vials and select PurePitch strains are available for purchase in the Sudwerk Dock Store. 
 
Additionally, White Labs will have a booth and be pouring beers at the upcoming California Craft Beer Summit in Sacramento 9/11-9/12.
 
White Labs is also looking forward to co-hosting a "Field Course in Brewing Science" for the California Science Teachers Association during the Science Education Conference this October at Sudwerk Brewing Co and White Labs Davis
