Pasteurization Effectiveness Testing

  • Purpose:
Identifying the effectiveness of pasteurization on the post-pasteurized beer product.

Testing: Using nutrient-rich media (WLN) and common brewery microbiological plates, standard plate counts are used to determine the levels of organisms surviving the process. 50 mL of the sample will be filter-plated and incubated.

This testing does not identify species. Please specify if dilutions of the product are required. This test does not look for pathogenic organisms.

It is recommended to do multiple rounds of testing so that several samples from a run (beginning/middle/end) are evaluated.
