Executive Sous Chef

Summary: The Executive Sous Chef is responsible for managing and operating the kitchen in collaboration with the Executive Chef and General Manager. This position is responsible for delivering our highest quality food to our guests within company specifications, training reinforcement for the kitchen team, and compliance with budgets and inventory procedures set by the company. Operational knowledge is required, and duties incorporate actively controlling the restaurant’s profits, sales and customer service in accordance with company standards.

This position will be working with fresh, high-quality ingredients from local farmers, executing a unique fermentation-focused menu with a strong pizza component, in a casual Taproom environment.  As the on-site leader of the kitchen, the Sous Chef must represent consistent, positive, and productive communication to our staff. He/She must both lead by example and also by teaching, setting priorities, and holding staff accountable when appropriate. We expect to extend the same level of hospitality to our staff, as we do our guests. 

Essential Functions & Duties

  • Ensures all menu items are prepared according to recipe and Executive Chef’s instructions, using proper cooking and plating procedures
  • Conducts daily station/line checks to ensure readiness for the shift
  • Performs audits of food storage including checking of dates of all items and proper rotation of product
  • Develops and maintains daily prep lists, dough logs and other prepared foods
  • Audits prep stations for proper portions (using scale when needed) and proper sizes of cut/prepped items
  • Monitors all food handling throughout the shift to ensure adherence to all proper procedures and food safety guidelines, and quality of ingredients going out to the guests with minimal waste
  • Follows up on all cleaning procedures in order to maintain a work environment that is free from safety concerns/hazards
  • Assists Executive Chef/GM with weekly & monthly food inventories; price updates and control
  • Assists Executive Chef/GM in maintaining food cost to budget through control of waste, portion control, and proper ordering
  • Responsible for daily kitchen labor control to budget
  • Places all orders for food on a daily basis to assure availability of all menu items at all times
  • Safe handling of knives; safe and proper operation of all kitchen equipment
  • Makes recommendations to Executive Chef/GM on operational improvements
  • Assists Executive Chef with development of new menu items and existing menu items
  • Collaborates with GM to interview and hire the best people for kitchen positions
  • Assists Executive Chef with staff training and development
  • Partners with GM and Executive Chef to source fresh, high-quality ingredients from local farmers
  • Create and maintain a high level culture of hospitality for both staff and guests.
  • Additional duties as assigned by GM


Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Valid Serve Safe certification, or ability to obtain within two weeks of employment
  • Solid foundation in cooking knowledge, techniques and international cuisines.
  • 5+ years of restaurant kitchen experience, including a minimum of two years of kitchen management experience in a full service restaurant environment
  • Good understanding of beer, how beer is made, cooking with beer and pairing with beer
  • Prior experience with managing food and labor costs within a full service restaurant
  • Experience with POS systems as well as Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to motivate a team
  • Excellent knowledge of food ingredients


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a fast-paced and high-volume restaurant setting. Because the environment includes a kitchen and customer seating area, the noise level may be disruptive at times.  Requires standing and/or walking more than 75% of time. There may be lifting required of up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting of objects of up to 15lbs.

Warehouse Clerk

Summary: The Warehouse Clerk performs a variety of duties related to the shipping, receiving and movement of finished goods and materials. This role helps maintain the cleanliness, organization and safety of the warehouse area(s) and the proper storage of received goods. The position requires the flexibility to move between tasks throughout the day and a strong attention to detail.

Essential Functions & Duties


  • Fulfills, assembles and packages both Pro and Home Brew customer orders in accordance with company procedure.
  • Assembles boxes and other packaging materials as required.
  • Monitors inventory levels of packaging supplies, notifying management when reordering is necessary.
  • Utilizes RF Smart to perform fulfillment transactions.
  • Prepares shipping documents including address labels and customs forms.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of warehouse, cold box and receiving area(s).
  • Notifies management of product integrity or inventory concerns.



  • Operates a variety of warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) to unload and put away materials as they are delivered.
  • Organizes and manages inventory control of materials received.
  • Receives all items into NS and puts away daily.
  • Picks and sends interdepartmental items as needed.
  • Reconciles materials received against invoice quantities, notifying Senior Buyer and Supply Chain Manager of any concerns.
  • Maintains a clean, safe and organized receiving area/warehouse.


Material Handling

  • Operates a variety of equipment (forklift, pallet jack, electric cart, etc.) to assist with the movement of materials and supplies between buildings.
  • Transports bulk yeast vessels that have passed QC clear from B1 to B3 daily.
  • Transports final packaged goods from B3 to B2 as required.
  • Delivers requisitioned supplies to internal departments.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements when moving supplies or operating machinery.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read and interpret Accounting invoices as well as product labels.
  • Experience with UPS/FedEx/DHL shipping software preferred.
  • Netsuite ERP experience a plus.
  • Able to communicate effectively across multiple departments.

Facilities Manager

Summary: The Facilities Manager manages and assists in the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery, including HVAC, building lighting systems, grounds keeping, security and overall facility appearance. This is a hands on position that also supervises and coordinates the work of employees who repair and maintain building/facility, equipment and machinery.

Essential Functions & Duties

  • Performs and/or directs the performance of all maintenance departmental service requests, ensuring that the work performed in these areas is accomplished efficiently, neatly, safely and in accordance with established standards.
  • Manages departmental staff, including selection, scheduling and job assignments; counseling, appraisals and recognition; recommending salary, promotional, disciplinary, termination and other personnel actions.
  • Assists with equipment layout and installation plans for additional equipment and production capacity.
  • Develops and maintains a preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery.
  • Trains facilities staff as well as operator level employees on basic preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Arranges for, and manages appropriate third-party contractor support as needed.
  • Maintains and acts as point of contact for facilities related vendor contracts.
  • Prepares budgets and secures estimates and cost quotes as needed.
  • Enforces sound safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Ensures completion of maintenance work in accordance with established standards and in compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Oversees preparation and filing of periodic reports with government/regulatory authorities including environmental permitting.
  • Acts as safety champion for all manufacturing areas.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned by VP of Operations.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • BA/BS in engineering, Facilities Management or related field.
  • Certification in Facilities Management a plus.
  • Experience through technical education and hands-on-experience in the following disciplines:
    • HVAC design and engineering
    • Electrical design and engineering
    • Plumbing design and engineering
    • Excellent leadership and managerial skills and desire to train, supervise and lead maintenance staff and contractors.
    • Computer literate including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and maintenance management systems (Netsuite).
    • Strong customer service focus and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with regulatory agencies, vendors, contractors, tenants and employees.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of facility management, plant operations, engineering, or maintenance supervision experience.
  • Commercial brewery related experience highly preferred.
  • Project management experience strongly preferred.
